Cost
The MBC korean drama Weightlifting Fairy earned a ton. In exchange with cameos of famous korean actors, set ups, interior design to places to shoot. The show itself earned about 600 million won and spent almost the same amount. The opening day is unclear with how much the show earned because of the low ratings. Basically for each episode, the show gross about 37 million won alone. This doesn’t include the cast members yet.
For the actors, the main characters mostly got paid the highest. Lee Sung Kyung and Nam Joo Hyuk makes about 10 million won for each episode done and with their name alone on the program. Since MBC generates a lot of money, the characters get paid well. Same goes for every actor that has their own contract with special clauses. This is all because the film is not aimed at a particular group, but is a show that an audience of any age can enjoy. Including children, students, adults.
